It's Official...we have peppers!

I have been trying to be patient (the other Hansens had to wait 5 weeks for their peppers) and that has been difficult for me.  I stopped checking every day because of the whole watched pot thing--they never boil.  Watched plants never grow.  Today I noticed that we finally have some pepper plants coming up!  I was afraid they were doomed.  

We drove out to the farm plot on Saturday on our way back from Pocatello.  It is big, but when I looked at it I didn't have an overwhelming feeling like I did when we first were talking about the dimensions of it.  

Here are the first transplants, growing nicely in the window.  One of these days it is going to warm up enough to take them outside for a while.  


Notice the big plants are all the second wave of flower seeds.  They do grow much faster than vegetables.  I think we need to transplant a few of them in the next day or so.  This afternoon we are going to go plant our root vegetables and the leafy stuff.  Plus the peas cause they like the cold weather.  I am excited to finally get into the garden and feel like we are getting something done!  I know my front room would argue since almost every window is occupied by plants, but I want them to be in the ground where they can really start to spread out and develop.  I am a little surprised at how excited I am--and how I have yet to kill anything. Knock on wood!
